♥ A while back I was at the Wedluxe Wedding Show in Toronto where I met the owner of The Sultan’s Tent Restaurant. I was impressed by the Sultan’s Tent’s set design, colors and intricate details. I also noticed how friendly and welcoming the owner and the staff are. I took a mental note that one day I will have a shoot at the Sultan’s Tent Restaurant. It took a few months, but the right moment came. Andrea and Dan, a newly engaged couple, trusted me in choosing the location for the engagement photo shoot. I only gave them an approximate location “let’s meet on the corner of Front and Church” for the shoot. I hadn’t even contacted the restaurant to book the photo session. I completely trusted in the moment. I like challenges anyway and if the restaurant location didn’t come through I’ll be right in my element. I love to photograph without a complete plan and I strive on finding and making the best out of what’s available (light, subject, elements and location). We were so welcomed into the Sultan’s Tent Restaurant and made to feel at home. Tania, a staff member, opened up the entire restaurant for us to photograph as we please. The entire basement was our playground and guess what? I was a kid in a candy store. I’m with an amazing young couple, Andrea and Dan, who completely trusted me and my “vision” and the place is absolutely stunning. Colors, details, space, you name it. We spent about two hours on the shoot. It didn’t take Andrea and Dan long before they got in the moment and I was able to capture their relationship in this beautiful setting.
