A Historic Toronto Wedding Venue | The Old Mill
A historic Toronto landmark, The Old Mill is a highly sought-after venue for couples to say I Do. Originally built in 1793, the expansive grounds of this former lumber and grist mill is located just off Bloor Street. The Old Mill has a rich history and stunning Tudor architecture. Lush trees surround the mill, tucking it away from busy city streets. With its classic English warmth, notably the interior and exterior architecture, it’s plain to see why this historic place is such a popular wedding venue.
Despite being steps away from one of Toronto’s busiest streets, The Old Mill is peacefully surrounded by the foliage of Kings Mill Park. It is situated on the banks of the Humber River. It’s easy to forget you’re in the city when you’re surrounded by trickling streams and fountains. The landscaped pathways lead to a courtyard terrace, as well as the Old Mill’s English Tea Garden.
In addition to the fifty-plus boutique hotel suites, the Old Mill has everything you need for a wedding, including a chapel, a wedding garden, and an on site florist. They have banquet hall options to suit a variety of wedding sizes, as well as a spa to be pampered in. Picture-perfect spots for wedding photos can be found not only outside but inside as well. For example, there are long beautiful hallways, grand staircases and many nooks and crannies, complete with picturesque backgrounds.
Tarek & Rohila
When Tarek and Rohila chose this historic Toronto site as their wedding venue, they planned it from start to finish. Their reception was held in the Guildhall, with its 14-feet coffered ceilings, elegant wall coverings, rich drapery, and heavy wooden doors and beams. Complementing the classic old world Tudor warmth, the couple chose gold seating, mirrored accents and soft pastel florals for the decor.
Lina & Mahmoud
While Tarek and Rohila had their entire wedding at the Old Mill, Lina and Mahmoud had a different approach for theirs. Although they had their nuptials celebrated elsewhere, they decided to have their photos taken at the Old Mill. Here, they walked the halls for their first look and danced under the staircase. Afterwards, they braved the blustery May wind storm for portraits on the patio before heading to their wedding reception.
In summary, the Old Mill has everything you need for your wedding. It can be your one-stop-shop. Or, if you prefer, it can simply be a unique highlight of the day. Regardless of your preference, the Old Mill is an absolutely gorgeous historic Toronto wedding venue that will always be in style.
