Small Backyard Wedding in the GTA | Lara + Wael

Prior to heading to their reception at Mazza Garden, Lara and Wael hosted a small backyard wedding in the GTA.

It was all about the details as they prepared for the ceremony. Lara was gorgeous in a fitted lace dress and nude platform shoes while her husband to be looked handsome in a black suit and pinstriped tie.

Excited to begin their day, the two met in the foyer and lovingly snapped selfies together. Around them, white balloons floated at the ceiling with their ribbons cascading down to the floor. Tied to them were personalized notes and snapshots that loved ones had written.

Before the hustle began and everyone arrived, the pair took a stroll around the neighbourhood, stopping for photos at a local park along the way. Although many of the trees were still bare from the winter season, the springtime cherry blossoms sprouted colourful pink blooms around the couple.

Back at the house, the couple greeted their guests. Once everyone had arrived, they made their way outside where family members stood, snapping pictures and waiting for the nuptials to begin.

Lara and Wael exchanged vows with the bright spring sun shining down. It was short but romantic, and at the end they marked their newlywed status with a pop of champagne.

The group continued their celebrations at the restaurant in Ajax. Halfway through the reception, Lara changed into a blush-coloured cocktail dress. The band featured a saxophonist decked-out in white from head to toe, performing while the belly dancer swayed her hips on the dance floor.

Despite the small size of the venue and modest guest list, this event packed some substantial punches. The pièce de resistance: a wedding cake embellished with pyrotechnic sparklers!
